It can. A link without a password may unfurl in chat apps with a small preview of the page, which for an image means a glimpse of the image itself. If even that is too much — the image is sensitive, or the chat is a big group — set a password. Password-protected links never get a preview, because a preview would show what the password is there to hold back.
Yes, if it had any. The file is stored exactly as you uploaded it, which is also why it isn't recompressed — and that means metadata inside the file travels with it. A photo taken on a phone can carry the place it was taken; anyone who saves the image can read it. If that matters, remove the location before you upload: most phones and photo apps have an option to share or export without location.
PNG and JPEG. The upload checks the file's actual contents rather than its name, so a renamed file of another type won't pass. Other formats — HEIC straight off an iPhone, WebP, GIF, SVG — need converting to PNG or JPEG first; most phones and image editors can export either. If what you have is a set of images that belong together, put them on one HTML page (or a ZIP with the page and its images) and share that instead.
A No-account upload — no sign-up at all — takes a file up to 3 MB and expires after 7 days, which covers most screenshots and exported mockups. On the free plan, links expire after 7 days — except one always-on slot, which is enough for a single image that has to stay up. On Solo and Studio links stay live until you choose an expiry. You can also end a link early at any time, which is the useful move when a preview has done its job and you'd rather it stopped circulating.
When you actually want the image to be public and embeddable — a picture for a forum post, a README, a marketplace listing, anywhere that needs a direct image URL to show it inline.
